3rd Party Needs GSC Access

There are 3 ways we can give access to a 3rd party, whether it is a marketer or customer.

  1. We can add their email to the GSC account we have and give them access.
  2. There is a meta tag we can add to the homepage to give them access to their own GSC account. They need to provide this meta tag and we would add it to the Header/Footer Scripts.
  3. There is a DNS TXT record they can get. If we have access to their NameServers, then we can add it to their DNS.

Please note that validating any errors in GSC can take up to 2 months to see reflection

This is where you submit a page to Google to be crawled:

If the page is not on Google it will look like:

You can click on the highlighted Request Indexing to prioritize the page in your Google Crawl budget*.

*It is important to note that Google has a Crawl budget, meaning youc an only submit so many pages per day, since we have Google Search Console for our full list of business class and up customers, we have a spreadsheet that is checked daily for additional submission. You can add to this list here: Google Search Console List.

This section will let us see an overview of their user interaction on Google:

It can also tell the customer what some of their top keywords, pages, and counties are:

Page indexing is one of the main uses of Google Search Console. This report will allow you to keep a thumb on the health of the pages on a website. Here we can submit sitemaps:

We can look at individual pages and or see what issues our pages have on Google Search Console:

Please note that you can toggle different sitemaps to see where issues are arising:

Note: we focus mainly on the https://www.domain.com/sitemap.xml to get an accurate read on the pages that are being viewd by customers.

The page experience report will give you tips on what kinds of improvement your site could use both mobile and desktop based on the user interactions and userability:

Core Web Vitals gives a more indepth analysis of the user experience, however, in our market you will find that most of the contractor sites we host do not get enough traffic for Google to popuate this report:

If a site has enough traffic to generate a core web vitals report, you can click on "Open Report" for desktop or mobiile depending on the data available. These reports will look like:

You can seen in the screenshot above that the report will layout the issues for you to access. We want to make sure there are no Poor issues in the red. You can also look through the Need Improvement issues in the yellow and if it something we can fix, go ahead and fix it.

HTTPS

Google Search Console will also monitor the HTTPS of the domain:

If there is an issue with the HTTPS, such as an expired SSL Certificate, make a task for Development to make sure that is updated.
